AGM AND PRIZE-GIVING 18/10/2017

The AGM was held at Glenbervie Golf Club today with forty nine ladies in attendance. Captain Lizee McGraw gave a  full and humorous report on the year's activities with special thanks to  Treasurer Meriel Walker, retiring after 3 years, and to Anne Wilson, retiring as representative for Fife.  Ladybank member Joan Prentice has offered to take on  position of Treasurer,  and Linda McDonald was elected as representative for Fife.  

Lizee handed over proceedings to  the new Captain, Lorna Bennett, who introduced her Vice-Captain, Margaret Tough. Following  close of business,  Lorna invited Lizee to present  the Trophies and Vouchers.  Proceedings were rounded off by the  Midland Vets 2017 Champion, Fiona de Vries who gave a hearty Vote of Thanks, saying how much she enjoyed the camaraderie  and  fun at  all Vets  Meetings.

SENIOR WOMEN'S HOME INTERNATIONALS FINAL

The Senior Women's Home Internationals  ended yesterday with Scotland "winning" the wooden spoon.  A draw with Wales on the last day  meant that Wales finished with a slightly better "games won" column, 9 to Scotland's 8.5, edging Scotland into last place.

The title-deciding match between Ireland and England was all square after the foursomes but wins by Gertie McMullen, Sheena McElroy and Laura Webb in the singles gave the Irish a 4.5-3.5 victory, ending England's bid for a fourth title in a row.

England defeated Scotland 5.5-2.5  in the second day of the the Senior Women’s Home Internationals at Newport, Wales to set up a title decider against Ireland today.

NO JOY FOR SCOTLAND

There was no joy for Scotland on the first day of the Senior Womens Home Internationals played at Newport, Wales yesterday. The morning play did not yield any points.....the afternoon singles were close, with Ireland winning 3-2.

LADIES SENIOR HOME INTERNATIONALS

The  Ladies Senior Home Internationals between Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland take place in Newport, Wales next week from Tuesday 3rd October  - 5th. The team will be captained by Lorna Bennett and is :

Donna Jackson – Troon Ladies
Gillian Kyle – East Renfrewshire
Lesley Lloyd – Hayston
Lorna McKinlay – Dunnikier Park
Frances Millar – Carnoustie Caledonia
Sheena Wood – Aberdeen Ladies

Scotland last won this event in 2007  when the event took place at the same venue.
