Fixture Card for 2023

The Committee have now firmed up all the dates for our golf meetings for the season, along with the dates for the Inter-Divisional Matches against the East, North and the West.

Members eligible to play in these Matches will be contacted in the next few weeks and thereafter the  selected team members will be informed once availability is confirmed.

Information for participating in the Blairgowrie Event in September 2023, will also be coming out soon with details of this Balloted Event.

Members are therefore asked to print out their own copy of the Fixture Card which will be attached in an email to you personally.

I look forward to welcoming all our new members and existing membership and hope you enjoy all the fixtures and venues selected.  Your participation is what makes these events worthwhile and a good opportunity to socialise with kindred golfers.

International Representation

 It gives me great pleasure to inform you that Elaine Moffat has been selected to join the team to represent The SVLGA at the forthcoming Scotland v Ireland match, for the Mary McKenna Trophy, at Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club on April 2nd and 3rd 2023.

Fiona de Vries, will Captain the team.

I am sure all members, along with myself and the Committee wish Elaine and the team all the best and hope they bring back the trophy.  Congratulations to both Midland Vets members.

THE NEW 2023 SEASON IS GETTING CLOSER

 The Captain and the Committee are quietly working behind the scenes in preperation for the New Season, in addition to Lorna McKinlay (Vice Captain) and myself having visited 2 of the Venues, to ensure all is in place for your enjoyment at our Meetings

As a reminder, The Annual Subscription of £15.00 is due to be paid by the end of February 2023.  Please scroll down to the previous Post Annual Subscription Renewal and click on the link.  Complete the form and submit.

If you have any friends who would like to join the Midland Vets, please direct them to our website at      http://midlandvets.blogspot.com where they will find our Application Form.

New Members must : 

Have reached their 50th birthday 

Be a member of a Golf Club affiliated to Scottish Gof

Have a Handicap Index of 30 or less

There is a joining fee of £10.00, plus the Annual Subscription of £15.00

Spring Meeting - Scotscraig Golf Club - Tuesday 18th April.  Entries Open on 25th March.

Summer Meeting/Championship - Balbirnie Park Golf Club - Tuesday 20/21st June - Entries Open on Saturday 27th May

4BBB - Falkirk Tryst Glof Club - Thursday 10th August - Entries Open 17th July.

Autumn Meeting - Strathmore Golf Club - Tuesday 29th August - Entries Open 5th August.

Please note that when booking Falkirk and Strathmore will also have Evening Tee Times.

Update on Fixtures 2023

 After some considerable discussion at the last Committee meeting in December, 2022, the decision was made that the Meeting at Falkirk Tryst on the 10th August this season will now be a 4BBB.  Also, those members who would like to play, but do not have a partner, will be able to enter themselves and the Convenor will aim to match up individuals to create a team.

A Scratch Prize for this meeting is also being introduced in addition to the existing prizes.

As a trial to encourage our working ladies to play we have negotiated for this season, that the events at Falkirk Tryst and the Autumn meeting at Strathmore will have the addition of evening times.  

Falkirk will be from 5.04 -5.20 and Strathmore from 5.15-5.45.  All these new introductions will be reviewed at the end of the season, for 2024.

To date a good number of memberships have already been received by our Treasurer, but as a reminder  the closing date for membership is 28th February 2023.
