There were special thanks to  Secretary, Margaret Hunter, retiring after 3 years, and to Lyn Fleming, retiring as representative for Stirling and Clackmannan.  Jean Hillis (Tulliallan) was elected as representative for  Stirling & Clackmannan and Kay Knight (Pitlochry) as representative for Perth & Kinross.

Following  close of business,  Margaret invited Lorna to present  the Trophies and Vouchers.  Proceedings were rounded off by the  Midland Vets 2018 Champion, Elaine Moffat, who gave a rollicking Vote of Thanks, saying how much she had enjoyed  her introduction to senior golf in her first year with Midland Vets,  and  thanked everyone for the warm welcome she had received.

IT WAS SO CLOSE!

It was so close! Scotland played fantastic golf today to beat  defending champions Ireland by  5 - 4 on the final day of the Senior Women's Home Internationals.  Ireland, Scotland and England all won two of their three matches, but it was games won that counted and Ireland pipped both Scotland and England to the title by winning  15 games to  their 13.5.
Scotland's hopes of finishing in second place were then dashed by a tortuous count-back which saw them finish 3rd.  Wales were 4th.

Scotland's opening match  on Tuesday was against Wales, with Foursomes in the morning and Singles in the afternoon.  We won the Foursomes 3 - 0  and won the Singles  3 - 2, making the  Team score 6 - 2 for Scotland.  England were beaten  1.5 - 6.5 by Ireland.

Today Scotland played  England. We lost the Foursomes  by 0.5 - 2 in the morning  and  halved the afternoon Singles to make the final  Team
score 5 - 3 for England. Ireland defeated Wales  by 5 - 3.

It's all to play for tomorrow when Scotland meet a very strong Irish team.
Good luck to Lorna and the team....full results follow tomorrow.
