Entry is now open for the Stableford Greensomes at Drumoig on Thursday, 11 August 2022.   

You must enter with a partner who is a member of SVLGA (Midland Division)

We will be playing for the Stableford Salver.

Entries must be accompanied by payment of the Entry Fee of £30 per pair.   Payment can be by BACS or a cheque sent to the Treasurer (see Form for details)

The Closing Date for Entries is Monday, 1 August 2022.

If the event is oversubscribed, places will be determined by the earliest date of paid entries received.

MVLGA SUMMER MEETING AND CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL AT DUNBLANE

 SVLGA (Midland Division) Championship

The Final of the Midland Vets Ladies Championship between Alison Davidson (Stirling) and Lesley Gibb (West Lothian) was held at Dunblane New Golf Course  yesterday.

The Qualifying Round and Quarter Finals on Tuesday and the Semi-Finals on Wednesday morning were played in very challenging rainy conditions.   As with the Quarter Finals, the golf in  Semi Finals was of a fantastic standard, Aileen Baker taking Alison Davidson to the 19th. 

The Final start time had to be delayed by an hour but the sun finally came out from behind the rain clouds and the game was played in warm and dry(ish) weather.    The supporters following the game were given an exhibition of great golf from both players.   Lesley put up a very determined challenge  but Alison's Par and Birdie golf prevailed at the 13th when the heavens opened again, as if on cue.

Congratulations to Alison Davidson for winning the Lady McInnes Shaw Cup.   Alison will be asked to represent the Midland Division at the SVLGA Championship at Blairgowrie in September.

Thanks to the Spectators who came to support the players and to Dunblane Golf Club who, not only made us feel so welcome, but were so helpful in changing the start of the Final,  enabling the Finalists to have time to recover for the afternoon.

SUMMER MEETING AT DUNBLANE NEW GOLF CLUB

Our Summer Meeting was held at Dunblane New Golf Club on Tuesday, 28 June in very rainy conditions.

Kay Knight from, Pitlochry Golf Club, won the Donaldson Quaich (Best Nett Score) Helen Ewen from Muckhart Golf Club, won the Poppy Paperweight (Best Nett for players aged over 70)

The best Scratch Score was won by Alison Davidson from Stirling Golf Club.

Full results will be posted tomorrow following the Finals of the Championship.

Our Summer Meeting is the Qualifying Round for the SVLGA (Midland Division) Championship.

The Quarter Finals were played in the afternoon.

Summer Meeting

This is a Strokeplay Competition and the Handicap Allowance is 95%

We will be playing for:

·       The Donaldson Quaich – Lowest Nett Score

·       The Poppy Paperweight – Lowest Nett Score for players aged over 70 years

There will be Scratch Prizes and Prizes for all three Divisions, so lots to play for.

(Please note, players can only win one prize)

 

Championship

The Summer Meeting is also the Qualifying Round for the SVLGA (Midland Division) Championship.  

The Winner will represent the Midland Division at the SVLGA Championship at Blairgowrie in September playing against the Champions from the other seven Divisions.   (The 2021 SVLGA Champion is our Current Champion Elaine Moffat)

This is a Scratch Competition.   Players who have one of the best eight scratch scores will be entered in the Knockout Stage playing for:

·       The Lady McInnes Shaw Cup

Sign-In

A member of the Committee will Sign you into the Competition at the Welcome Desk in the Lounge.  Please let the Committee Member know your Handicap Index, particularly if you played in a Qualifying Match the previous day.

 

Score Cards

There will be a label on your Score Card.   We will be returning to exchanging Score Cards.   Your Marker will enter your Score in Column A on your card and enter their own score in the Marker’s Score Column.

 

Entering Scores

Please return your Signed Cards to the Desk.   You will read your score to the Committee Member and your Score will be Entered onto the Laptop for you.

 

Catering Arrangements

Breakfast Rolls will be available up to 12:00.   Lunch and Lite Bite Menu thereafter.

 

Course Toilet

There is a Toilet on the Course after the 8^th green.   There is no code for this toilet.
