The following Conditions of Competition and Local Rules, together with any additions or amendments as published on the official competition Entry Form, the SVLGA (Midland Division) website, and/or at the event, shall apply to all SVLGA (Midland Division) events unless otherwise indicated. All references are to the current edition of the Rules of Golf as published by R&A Rules Limited.
ELIGIBILITY
- Unless otherwise indicated, competitions are open only to amateur members of SVLGA (Midland Division) holding a WHS Handicap.
ENTRIES
- Entry Application Forms and Closing Dates for Entries are helpful for administration purposes. Competition Entries should be submitted using the official Form available on the SVLGA (Midland Division) website prior to any closing date specified in the Fixture Card or Form AND must be accompanied by payment. (Cheques must be made payable to “SVLGA (Midland Division).”
- Entries submitted after the closing date may be accepted subject to the availability of suitable starting times.
- If an event is oversubscribed, the competition places, and those on any “waiting list“ operated, will be determined by the earliest date of paid entries received. Should a resolution not be possible under this procedure, places will be decided by ballot.
- Entry fees will be refunded only where notice of withdrawal is received prior to publication of the Draw.
- The Committee reserves the right to arrange and/or alter starting times.
- The Committee reserves the right to alter the Rules of entry and Conditions of the competition (including the prohibition or restriction of use of sit-on motorised vehicles for safety or other good reasons).
- The Committee comprises those members of the SVLGA (Midland Division) committee present at and/or responsible for management of the event on the day. Its decision is final.
COMPETITIONS
- Competitions shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Rules Limited.
- The Summer Meeting shall act as an 18 hole strokeplay qualifying round for the SVLGA (Midland Division) Championship. The 8 players returning the lowest gross scores will compete in match play for the Championship. Ties for the last place(s) and all other ties for the automatic draw shall be decided on card countback using the scores for the second 9,6,3,1 hole(s).If still a tie, the scores for the first 9,6,3,1 hole(s) will be used. If still a tie, the Committee will reach a final decision.
- The draw for the match play stage of the Championship shall be in accordance with the Automatic Draw. Each match shall be over 18 holes after which, if the match is all square, it shall continue from the 1st tee on a “sudden death” basis until a hole is won.
- A player may use ride-on motorised transportation subject to her ensuring that she is appropriately insured against any claim which may be made for any loss, Injury, or damage occasioned by such use. In playing in the event, the player agrees that she will have no right to claim against SVLGA (Midland Division) and discharges SVLGA (Midland Division) from any liability in this respect.
